Privacy Policy

Munch Match helps you decide what to eat. Solo mode keeps everything on your device. Decide-together mode stores the minimum data needed to match two people — and that data is deleted automatically after 24 hours. We don't sell data, run ads, or use analytics trackers.

When you swipe solo, your choices and preferences are stored in your browser's session storage. They stay on your device and are cleared when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to our servers.

To match two people in a shared room, we temporarily store on our backend:

• a randomly generated room code
• the meal type and mode you picked (lunch/dinner, restaurant/cook)
• the display name you enter for the room
• a random device ID so we know which participant you are
• your swipe choices until both people finish

Rooms expire and are deleted after 24 hours of inactivity. If you sign in with an account, your user ID may be linked to sessions you join so we can suggest recent partners — but accounts are never required.

We save a random device ID and your chosen display name in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter them each time. You can clear this at any time by clearing site data for imhungry.dev in your browser settings.

No advertising cookies, no analytics trackers, no third-party pixels. We do not track you across the web or build a profile of your activity.

The result screen links to Google Maps, DoorDash, and Yelp so you can find or order food nearby. Once you click through, you're on their site and their privacy policies apply — not ours.

Munch Match is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If anything material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you're cool with the updated policy.
